Warung Wak Stu, Klang: 60-Sen Kuih at a Legendary Warung
An afternoon warung on Jalan Goh Hock Huat that still sells dozens of kinds of kuih for as little as 60 sen, along with mee kari, soto and hot coffee.

Ask any Klang local about the longest-running spot for afternoon tea, and the name Warung Wak Stu is almost sure to come up. This warung on Jalan Goh Hock Huat, Kawasan 18 has been running for years, so long that many of its regulars started dropping by when they were kids.
When we arrived in the late afternoon, the place was buzzing. There were schoolkids just out of school, workers stopping by after office hours, and uncles and aunties sitting for ages chatting over coffee. The setup is simple, but that's exactly what gives it that nostalgic kampung warung feel.
The main attraction is, of course, the trays of kuih filling the tables. We spotted karipap (curry puffs), pau, lepat pisang, kuih cara and plenty more, and most are sold for as little as 60 sen each. In an era where prices keep going up, prices like this are rare, and with just a few ringgit you can take home a full bag.
For something more filling, there's mee kari with thick curry broth, mee sup and soto ayam. Fried snacks like keropok and cucur (fritters) are also available. Pair them with a cup of hot coffee or teh tarik, and your afternoon in Klang feels complete.
The warung only opens on weekdays, Monday to Friday from 2.30pm to 7pm. The kuih sell fast, so the widest selection is usually in the first hour or two. If you come close to maghrib, be prepared to see almost-empty trays. This warung is also one of the picks on our list, 7 Legendary Places to Eat in Klang.
