Warung Santai Santai Padu Ahak, Klang: 50-Plus Dishes from Lontong to Fish and Chips

A batik-draped warung in Klang with more than 50 Malay and Western dishes, now adding new items such as fish and chips, chicken tenders and prawn mee bandung for breakfast and lunch.

It looks ordinary from the outside, but step into Warung Santai Santai Padu Ahak and you are greeted by a cosy, old-school space decked out in batik cloth. The warung already offers more than 50 dishes, and this time we tried some new additions.

For Western cravings, there is fish and chips that is crisp outside and soft inside, chicken tenders with dipping sauce, a generous chicken chop and a spicy buttermilk chicken that never gets cloying. There is also a kids' meal set for little ones.

Classic fans can go for thick-gravy mee hailam (Hainanese-style noodles), prawn fried noodles with two big prawns, mee bandung udang (noodles in a rich prawn and chilli broth), mee kari and mee rebus. Breakfast options include roti special cheese with chicken curry, beef rendang, a Western-style breakfast with eggs and hash brown, lontong paru (rice cakes in coconut gravy with beef lung), lontong kering ayam merah, nasi ambeng (Javanese communal rice platter) and laksa Johor.

You will find it at Lot 3110, Lorong Haji Basiran, Jalan Kereta Api Lama, Klang. An older 2024 post lists it as open Saturday to Thursday from 7am to 1pm, closed on Fridays, so check before heading over.

Tips

  • Go early, as it only serves breakfast and lunch.
  • Parking is limited, so avoid weekend peak hours.
  • Bring the family and share, portions are generous.
