The Infinite-land, Blank Canvas George Town: Sim Chan's Miniature Worlds

Hong Kong artist Sim Chan's solo show at Blank Canvas, George Town, built miniature worlds out of everyday objects and was extended to 23 February 2026 before closing.

If you have ever wanted to see the world from a much smaller perspective, The Infinite-land (Penang) was the place. The solo show ran at Blank Canvas gallery on Lorong Soo Hong, George Town, from 7 December 2025 and was extended to 23 February 2026 due to strong demand. It has now closed.

Every piece is by a single artist, Sim Chan from Hong Kong. The miniature worlds are built from everyday items, and several works tell stories about Malaysia, Penang in particular. The main series featured 19 tiny worlds set against mirrors, so visitors could easily lose track of time studying the details.

There were fun interactive touches too. A claw machine offered the chance to win a miniature areca palm, while a gacha machine dispensed durian balloons and small keepsakes. Tote bags were also sold as souvenirs.

The exhibition opened from 12pm to 7pm, Thursday to Monday, with visits capped at one hour for crowd control. For future shows at Blank Canvas, check the gallery's Instagram.
