Sunway Lagoon, Bandar Sunway: Over 90 Attractions from Wave Pool to Haunted Houses

Officially opened in 1993, Sunway Lagoon is one of the best-known theme parks in the Klang Valley. Set on about 88 acres of land in Bandar Sunway, it offers more than 90 attractions, including 28 water rides and two roller coasters, making it a full-day destination for families and thrill-seekers.

The park is divided into several zones: the Water Park with its giant wave pool, Sunway Lost Lagoon, the Amusement Park, the Wildlife Park housing more than 150 animal species, X Park for extreme activities, the horror-themed Scream Park and Captain Quack Land, which opens at night. Must-try attractions include Vuvuzela, a giant vortex water slide, the FlowRider surf simulator and the Wild Chase Water Coaster, which opened in May 2025.

Sunway Lagoon is open Wednesday to Monday, 10am to 11pm, and closed every Tuesday except during school holidays and public holidays. Day admission tickets on the official website cost around RM145–RM193 for MyKad holders and around RM200–RM268 for foreign visitors. The easiest way to get here is the BRT Sunway; get off at Sunway Lagoon station near the Surf Beach entrance. It's a simpler option than driving, especially on weekends and during the holiday season.
