SkyTree Glamping, Batang Kali: Luxury Riverside Tents

Turn into the village road at Kampung Hulu Rening, Batang Kali, about an hour from Kuala Lumpur, and you'll find SkyTree Glamping, tucked under tall trees right beside a river. It's one of the more upmarket glamping options in Hulu Selangor, suited to honeymooners or small families who want a quiet break.

In our video, the earth-brown glamping tents come with a large bed, air-conditioning, a small fridge, a kettle and a private bathroom with shower. Each tent fits 4 to 6 people and has a wooden deck out front. Besides the tents there's a two-storey wooden cabin unit called Sky King, and river-view rooms bookable on Booking.com or Agoda.

From the viewing deck you can see the river flowing beneath the trees. There's direct river access, a pool with a shallow end for kids, a common room with board and card games, billiards, table tennis and a playground. A halal breakfast buffet is served every morning. For more excitement there's archery, fishing and ATV rides along muddy forest trails.

It's about 5.8 kilometres from Batang Kali town and not far from the Ulu Tamu hot springs. One thing to note: the site also hosts team-building groups and family days, so weekends can be lively. If you want it quiet, go on a weekday.

From Kuala Lumpur it's about an hour's drive via Rawang and Batang Kali town before turning into the Hulu Rening village road. The area has plenty of other spots such as 82 Rening, Kem Rimba Tamu and Kolam D'Kali. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out at noon. Pets and parties aren't allowed.
