Skyline Luge KL: 9 Things to Know, Including the HyFly Zipline
Engine-free luge on four tracks, the 380-metre HyFly cable-to-rail zipline and a 15-metre free fall, all on the hillside of Gamuda Gardens, Rawang.

Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur is in Gamuda Gardens, Rawang, about a 30- to 45-minute drive from the city centre depending on traffic. Opened in 2023, it's run by New Zealand's Skyline, the same company behind the famous luges in Rotorua and Queenstown. Our video about this place hit more than a million views, so we've rounded up the things you should know before coming.
The journey starts with the Skyride, a chairlift that takes visitors to the top station in under three minutes. For those of us who aren't afraid of heights it felt relaxing, and even those who are can still handle it. From the top, you choose one of four luge tracks ranging from 200 to 555 metres, including a tunnel over 160 metres long. The luge carts have no engine; you control the brakes and the corners yourself, and it's most fun when racing your friends.
The newest attraction is HyFly, introduced as Asia's first cable-to-rail zipline. The route is 380 metres with sharp turns and spiral loops, and speeds can reach 60 km/h. To get down, there's the option of a 15-metre free fall or the stairs. For us, this drop was the most nerve-wracking part, even though it looks short from below.
On safety, helmets and harnesses are provided, and staff check each participant one by one before starting. The filming rules are very strict. When we came, phones had to be strapped on, while the official FAQ states that only action cameras mounted on the wrist, chest or helmet are allowed on the luge and HyFly. Photos and videos are also captured automatically and can be collected at the kiosk on the same day.
We recommend coming from 5pm into the night, when the weather is cooler and the lights along the tracks start to come on. The place is family-friendly; kids 110 cm tall can ride on their own, while smaller ones can ride along with an adult.
Tips
- Closed every Wednesday. Come after 5pm for cooler weather and the night lights.
- Check the filming rules at the counter; action cameras strapped to your body or helmet are safest, and phones must be on a strap.
- HyFly has a weight limit of 30–140 kg, while the free fall is 40–120 kg; stairs are provided for those who don't want to jump.
