Sentap Bro, Seri Kembangan: Signature Sup Gearbox & Two New Dishes

From outside, Sentap Bro in Pusat Bandar Putra Permai looks like any ordinary eatery. But for Seri Kembangan folk, the name is synonymous with sup tulang (bone soup) and wallet-friendly prices. The shop is near the MRT Putrajaya line and opens from evening until midnight, making it a popular spot for dinner and hanging out.

This visit, we came to try two new dishes. Their fish and chips are fried till crispy and dipped in creamy tartar sauce. The char kuey teow udang galah is a must-try: the kuey teow has that wok hei aroma, served with big freshwater prawns whose meat is sweet and firm.

But the dish that built this shop's name is still the sup gearbox (beef knuckle soup). The broth is rich, the meat on the bone is tender and falls off easily, and the bones are packed with marrow to slurp out. Other customers also praise the sambal petai served with it.

For something different, try the nasi lemak chicken grill, rich coconut-milk nasi lemak with juicy grilled chicken and sambal. Sentap Bro also once drew plenty of attention with plain nasi lemak for as low as 50 sen. Other dishes include the Sentap Bro burger filled with crispy chicken and grilled lamb with black pepper sauce.
