Phat Roti, 1 Utama: Modern-Style Indian Street Food

If you're often at 1 Utama but always stuck on where to eat, here's a new name to note down. Phat Roti is now open at lot LG312B, Lower Ground Floor, New Wing. The mall describes it as a modern Indian street food brand known for bold flavours and a cheerful look, with a creative roti menu in both savoury and sweet versions.

We managed to drop by for its official opening. The atmosphere was lively with guests and media, and actress Nora Danish was there as a special guest.

The first dish we tried was the chicken biryani at RM19.95. Generous rice, plenty of chicken, and one plate is enough to fill you up after a long walk around the mall. Then we tasted the Phat Pocket in two flavours, tandoori chicken and butter chicken, RM14.95 each. Each one comes with a mint yogurt sauce that cools down the spices.

For drinks, there are three flavours of Phat Lassi: passion fruit, mango and strawberry, all RM8.95. They're thick and cold, a great match for the richly spiced food.

Phat Roti is open from 10am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and until 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday. It's ideal for a quick lunch, or just a stop after shopping. For those used to traditional Indian restaurants, Phat Roti offers familiar flavours in a form that's easier to take away and share.
