ParaThai, Subang Jaya: Authentic Thai and Firepot Tom Yum
A Thai restaurant in Subang Jaya with a pretty, Thailand-style setting, known for steamed sea bass in lime chilli sauce, firepot tom yum and the mieng kam starter.
Craving properly authentic Thai food? ParaThai in Subang Jaya has a setting that makes you feel like you are in Thailand. Our video was filmed for its Ramadan 2026 set promotion, which has since ended, but most of the dishes stay on the regular menu.
First up, steamed siakap (sea bass) with lime and chilli sauce. The fish is large and fresh, and the house-made sauce is tangy with a real chilli kick. Next, firepot tom yum with sea snails, every sip a balance of sour, salty and spicy, best enjoyed with a Thai omelette.
The must-try starter is mieng kam. One leaf wrap packs lots of flavours: sour lime, crunchy dried shrimp and fiery chilli. Other dishes include som tam (papaya salad), pandan chicken, mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea. ParaThai opens daily from 11am to 10pm, last order 9.30pm.
