Natra Bintan, Lagoi: Luxury Lagoon Glamping in Bintan

In the Lagoi tourism area of Bintan Island, Natra Bintan is Marriott's first glamping resort, under its Tribute Portfolio brand. Opened in 2019, it has 100 safari-style tents beside the Crystal Lagoon, a man-made seawater lagoon whose water really is that bright blue.

One of the more affordable options is the Deluxe Room, a tent of more than 40 square metres that sleeps four. In our video, it has a curtained four-poster bed, air-conditioning, a writing desk and a large stone-walled bathroom with a bathtub. Each tent has its own patio with a table under an iron arch.

The resort suits family holidays and events. There's a pool, a spa, The Patio restaurant, a breakfast buffet every morning and a souvenir shop selling batik, woven bags and paintings to take home. The lagoon next door is run by Treasure Bay, so water activities like wakeboarding, kayaking and the aqua glide are paid separately.

From Malaysia, the easiest route is to cross into Singapore and take Bintan Resort Ferries from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT) in Lagoi, about 1 hour 10 minutes. From BBT, the resort runs a free shuttle of about five minutes. In our video, nightly rates ranged from RM543 to RM1,334.

Natra Bintan suits couples, families with young children and groups who want an overseas holiday without flying. The ferry terminal, Treasure Bay and Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel are all close by, so you can combine several places in one trip. Your passport should be valid for at least six months to enter Singapore and Indonesia.
