Restoran Nasi Beriani Buluh on Jalan Persiaran Mewah, Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras is known for biryani cooked inside bamboo. Throughout Ramadan 2026 it ran a village-themed buka puasa (fast-breaking) buffet, complete with bamboo gazebos and coffee and pulled tea brewed over charcoal.
The star is of course the nasi beriani buluh (bamboo biryani), served with sides ranging from ayam masak merah (chicken in spiced tomato gravy) to daging masak hitam (beef in dark soy gravy). According to the video there were more than 50 dishes, including satay, noodles, laksa, kuih and plenty of drinks, all for under RM50 per adult.
The Ramadan buffet has ended, but the restaurant is open year-round. On foodpanda, the bamboo biryani with ayam masak merah is around RM21.90, and sharing trays are available. It is also a popular breakfast spot for its wood-fired coffee, as we have shared before.
