LRT3 Shah Alam Line Opens: Free Rides for a Month & Cool Spots
The LRT3 Shah Alam Line began operating on 29 June 2026 with free fares until 31 July, connecting Bandar Utama, Shah Alam and Klang.

The Shah Alam Line (LRT3) officially began operating on 29 June 2026. As an incentive, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced free fares from 29 June to 31 July 2026 for LRT3 and the feeder buses along the line. The free period gave the public a chance to try the new line while exploring Shah Alam and Klang.
The roughly 37.8 km line starts at Bandar Utama, which connects with the MRT Kajang Line, and ends at Johan Setia, Klang. Glenmarie 2 station is the interchange with the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. Stations close to popular attractions include Stadium Shah Alam, UiTM Shah Alam, Seksyen 7 Shah Alam, famous for its makan spots, as well as Pasar Klang and Jambatan Kota in old Klang town centre, about 700 metres from the KTM Komuter Klang station.
In its video, FuyohhTV shares a guide to makan spots, shopping and hangout places you can explore by LRT3. The free period has ended, but the line remains an easy way to avoid the Federal Highway jams. Five more stations are expected to open later, so keep an eye on announcements from Rapid KL.
