Kitagi Mart, Kota Raja Klang: Restaurant and Snack Shop Under One Roof
A quirky spot in Kota Raja, Klang with a restaurant up front and a snack corner at the back, now serving hearty new dishes like grilled beef and mutton fried rice.
Kitagi Mart in Kota Raja, Klang is not your usual eatery. The front is a restaurant, while the back is packed with snacks and munchies. At the front counter you can grab all sorts of bites, from oden, burgers and fried chicken to keropok lekor (fish crackers) and ice cream.
Beyond snacks, Kitagi Mart now has a new line-up of proper meals. The udang galah masak lemak cili api (river prawns in spicy coconut gravy) comes with a thick sauce and plump, tender prawns. The nasi goreng kambing (mutton fried rice) is nicely spicy with generous mutton. Our favourite is the smoky daging bakar batang pinang (grilled beef), dipped in a fiery "crying tiger" sauce.
The ayam gepuk (smashed fried chicken) is another winner: crisp outside, tender inside, with a sambal that is not overly hot. For drinks there is chocolate, fruit matcha, pink butter cream, caramel macchiato and Spanish latte. The menu is long, so folk in Klang and Kampung Jawa will find plenty to choose from.
