Kampong London Ramadan Buffet, Selayang: A Village Feast with Lucky Draws

Kampong London was a 30-day Ramadan buffet run by Asam Pedas London at Laman Pengantin Ummi Farsha, a wedding garden in Kampung Sungai Tua Bahru, Batu Caves. Prices started at around RM30, and diners could join a lucky draw while breaking fast. The setting was village-themed, with traditional outfits such as baju kurung Kedah to borrow and games like congkak, batu Seremban, dam haji (Malay checkers) and arcade machines.

The outdoor stations served grilled lamb, chicken rice, ikan keli penyet (smashed fried catfish), spaghetti, roti john and steamboat. The first to go were the grilled lamb and beef in black pepper sauce, tender rather than tough. Indoors was village-style cooking, including the signature asam pedas tetel (sour and spicy beef shank), stingray and chicken, thick laksa Johor, rendang with nasi impit (compressed rice) and gulai kawah.

Drinks included jars of cordial and water on every table, plus kopi O and spiced tea. The buffet ended with Ramadan 2026. We could not confirm the exact event dates, but you can still try their asam pedas at Restoran Asam Pedas London in Bandar Baru Selayang.
