Itek Itik, KL Gateway: Halal Chinese-Style Roast Duck

Halal, duck-based Chinese food is still hard to find in the Klang Valley. That's why we were excited when Itek Itik Roast Duck opened a branch on LG1, KL Gateway Mall, Kerinchi, in mid-2026.
The brand was founded by Mandy Tong, starting out in Damansara Jaya, Petaling Jaya, and has JAKIM halal certification. The duck is marinated with herbs and spices for at least 24 hours using a family recipe developed by her mother. Many dishes are given a curry touch because, as the founder puts it, Malaysians just love curry.
Our first dish was the roast duck curry cheong fun. Soft cheong fun is drenched in thick, rich curry gravy, and the roast duck rounds out the flavour. For wantan mee fans, the dry Hainanese kampung chicken wantan mee has springy noodles and juicy chicken. Want both? Go for the roast duck dry curry wantan mee, a combo of roast duck, noodles and thick curry gravy.
For sides, we ordered crispy fried chicken skin, salted egg lotus root, and lemongrass otak-otak, fragrant with light spices. Our drink was hot ginger soy milk, rich in soy flavour with a soothing ginger aroma after a curry meal.
