Golden Palm Tree, Sepang: Overwater Villas in a Palm Shape

Seen from the air, the villas of Golden Palm Tree at Bagan Lalang Beach, Sepang, are laid out like palm fronds reaching into the Strait of Malacca. Formerly known as Avani Sepang Goldcoast, the resort is about 40 minutes from KLIA, making it a close beach staycation for people in the Klang Valley.

The family villa in our video has a living room, two bedrooms, a bathtub and shower, and a bathroom for each room. The highlight is a balcony facing the sea and the sunset, right off the room. The walk from the lobby along the wooden boardwalk is long, so buggies ferry guests and luggage.

In the morning, breakfast is served on a restaurant deck built over the sea. The resort also has its own beach for sunset watching, an infinity pool, a kids' pool, the Tiki Tots kids' club and a spa. Activities include kayaking, paddleboarding, ATVs, archery and cycling. On weekends, don't miss the beach fire show at night.

From Kuala Lumpur, take the ELITE and KLIA expressways, then head towards Sungai Pelek and Bagan Lalang. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out at noon. Convenience stores and local food stalls in Bagan Lalang are close to the entrance.
