Digital Skating Centre, Berjaya Times Square: 2 Hours Under RM40

Looking for a weekend activity in the middle of Kuala Lumpur that doesn't depend on the weather? Digital Skating Centre on Level 6, Berjaya Times Square, Jalan Imbi, offers an indoor roller skating rink right next to the go-kart track on the same floor.
When we came, it cost under RM40 to skate for up to two hours, a reasonable price for an indoor mall activity in Bukit Bintang. Visitors can choose between two types of skates: roller skates with four wheels set in pairs, or roller blades with wheels in a single line.
If you've never skated before, don't worry. The centre provides wheeled training aids that work like a walker you hold onto while learning to balance. We saw all sorts of styles on the rink, from those inching along slowly to those skating in a line like a train with friends.
This place suits families with young kids, groups of friends and couples. The floor surface feels less hard than a regular mall floor, so falls don't hurt as much, though we still advise beginners to be careful. The walls are decorated with colourful graphics that make a great backdrop for OOTD photos.
Digital Skating Centre is open daily from 10am to 10pm, in line with Berjaya Times Square's opening hours. Visitors taking public transport can get off at Imbi Monorail station, which connects directly to the mall.
Tips
- Wear socks and clothes that are comfortable to move in; avoid short skirts or loose clothing that can easily get caught.
- Beginners, especially kids, should use the wheeled training aids provided before trying to skate on their own.
- Come on a weekday or early on a weekend morning if you want a less crowded rink.
- Take the Monorail to Imbi station to avoid traffic and parking fees in Bukit Bintang.
