De Valda's Chalet, Port Dickson: Barn Chalets With a Pool

Looking for a place in PD a whole group can book? De Valda's Chalet in Si Rusa, Port Dickson, has five wooden chalets with curved roofs in the style of a rumah lumbung (rice barn), set among mango, coconut and breadfruit trees. It's near the Dickson Dragon Cruise and Wan Loong temple, and the beach is only a few minutes' drive away.

Of the five chalets, two are two-storey family chalets. The ground floor suits 4 to 6 people, while the larger upper floor fits 6 to 8. In our carousel, the downstairs rooms have stained-glass windows and wooden floors, and every chalet has a private bathroom with a bathtub or shower. The other three studio chalets suit small families, with a queen bed and an extra mattress.

At the centre is a large, open swimming pool, surrounded by lawn for family-day games. There's also a pantry with a freezer for BBQ supplies, a BBQ hut, a kids' trampoline and hammocks. If you want to ride around Port Dickson, ATVs are available as an add-on.

If one group books all five units, the chalet is entirely yours and holds up to 30 people. It's ideal for family days, small kenduri (feasts) or trips with friends. Bookings are by phone call or WhatsApp.

Check-in is at 2pm and check-out at noon. Each chalet has air-conditioning, a water heater, a TV with Astro, a fridge, kettle, hair dryer and iron, plus prayer mats. Free gated parking is provided. Chalet guests who want to camp can pitch up to two tents on the field for RM15 each.
