Courtyard by Marriott Setia Alam: Shah Alam Staycation Hotel

You don't have to go far for a quick getaway. Courtyard by Marriott Setia Alam in Section U13, Shah Alam, is a four-star hotel that opened in 2022 and connects directly to Setia City Mall via a covered bridge. From the tower you get wide views across Setia Alam towards Klang.

The hotel has 225 rooms. In our video we stayed in the 581-square-foot One Bedroom Suite, good for two to three people, with a separate living room, a king bed and a large bathroom with a bathtub. Other options include the Deluxe King, Deluxe 2 Double, Corner King and Executive Suite King.

The hotel has an outdoor pool with a city view and a Pool Bar, plus a 24-hour gym and sauna. Breakfast is a buffet at 5 Wells, mixing local and international dishes. For events, the Grand Ballroom holds up to 600 guests, making it popular for weddings and company functions.

The big plus is location. Setia City Mall is a two-minute walk, Setia City Convention Centre five minutes, and the Setia Alam night market about 4 kilometres away. KLCC is about 40 minutes' drive. Room rates vary by date, so check the latest prices on Marriott's website.

The hotel suits weekend staycations for couples and families, or as a base for events at Setia City Convention Centre. It's easy to reach from the Guthrie and Kesas highways. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out at noon, and a refundable RM200 deposit is taken at check-in.
