CHAGEE Merdeka, Kepong Metropolitan Park: Kites and Tea

For independence month, tea brand CHAGEE held a special event at Kepong Metropolitan Park from 24 to 27 August 2026, daily from 3pm to 7.30pm. The concept was simple but meaningful: flying kites under the same sky, in the spirit of 'one sky, one taste, one Malaysia'.

Visitors could join a tea tasting experience and try the newest drink at the time, a vanilla oolong milk tea, which was also sold from the CHAGEE truck on site. There was a kite flick challenge too: the further your kite went, the better the prize, from vouchers to a lucky draw for exclusive CHAGEE merchandise such as tumblers.

For something creative, there was a pinwheel workshop. To join, you snapped a photo of the event, shared it on your IG Story tagging CHAGEE with the event hashtag, and got a queue number. Visitors could also help colour a giant CHAGEE block at the colouring booth. The event has ended, but follow CHAGEE Malaysia for its next community activity.
