Banglo Hitam, Klang: Camping Chairs, Cinnamon Coffee & Private Bubbles

There's a café in Klang we come back to again and again, not because it's viral, but because its drinks, food and atmosphere are consistent. That's Banglo Hitam, a coffee shop on Lorong Bukit Kuda.

The concept is laid-back. Guests sit on camping chairs in the bungalow grounds, and after sunset, the atmosphere feels even calmer and prettier. For us, it's one of the best places in Klang to unwind after work without feeling rushed.

The drink we never skip is the Chandramawa, a signature coffee with a fragrant cinnamon flavour that's different from the usual. Matcha fans can try the strawberry matcha; the matcha isn't bitter and the strawberry tastes fresh. We were also surprised by the strawberry chocolate, a combination we'd never heard of before but which turned out to be a favourite.

If you come hungry, the chicken butter rice board is a filling choice, with plenty of rice, tender chicken and a butter sauce that's rich but not cloying. The spicy crispy burger is crunchy with moderate heat. For sauce lovers, the extra-saucy version makes sure no bite is dry at all.

What sets Banglo Hitam apart from other cafés is the bubble, a transparent bubble tent within the bungalow grounds that can be used privately. It's available by booking only, so contact the café early if you want to experience it with your partner or friends.
