Abang Topi Cool Station, Meru: Musang King Durian Cendol & Rojak Mee

For Meru residents looking for a lunch spot or an afternoon hangout, Abang Topi Cool Station on Jalan Cempaka is easy to recognise because its main dishes are displayed at the front of the warung. We dropped by to try the menu items the owner recommends most.

According to the warung, the rojak gravy is cooked for up to four hours, while the cendol uses palm-based coconut milk, which they describe as cholesterol-free. There are several types of cendol, but the standout for us was the cendol durian, made with big chunks of Musang King durian. It's sweet and creamy, perfect for Klang's hot weather.

There are also several rojak options here. We went for the rojak mee ayam (with chicken), served with plenty of gravy, so it's ideal for those who like their rojak saucy, and it's quite filling.

For a proper meal, the nasi ayam penyet comes with a big, crispy piece of chicken and a very spicy sambal. The mee goreng mamak is fried with sambal sotong (squid sambal). For drinks, the lemon drink and mango float are really refreshing, and there's also mango sticky rice, pulut with ice cream and keropok lekor (fish crackers) to share in the afternoon.

The warung is open every day except Friday, from 9.30am to 6pm. According to Google Maps, dishes here cost an estimated RM1 to RM20 per person. Its location on the main road in Meru makes it an easy stop on the way between Klang and Kapar.
