7 Places to Visit in Kluang: Farm Resort, 3D Murals & Kopi Kluang

From a farm resort at the foot of Gunung Lambak to a former cartoonist's mural gallery and a station kopitiam dating back to 1938, Kluang is now easier to reach by ETS.

7 Places to Visit in Kluang

Kluang is often seen as a stopover town, but this railway town, which has carried that identity since 1909, holds more than you'd expect. Here are the seven places we recommend.

Talula Hill Farm Resort sits at the foot of Gunung Lambak and operates as a fruit and vegetable farm. Its cabins face the greenery, and there's a hilltop café, a swimming pool, campfires and the chance to feed goats. In town, Rumah Seni Kluang is a rundown bungalow transformed by former cartoonist Zulkefli Dahlan into a gallery with around 80 3D and 4D murals. In photos, the paintings seem to come alive.

Not far from there, Laman Kreatif Kluang is a lane full of murals, including a big painting of Kluang Man. Nearby is Laman Rel Mahkota, a 2.8 km rail park on a former railway line, opened in August 2025, complete with old platforms and signboards.

For an adrenaline fix, Pelangi Racing has its office in Kluang but its track in Air Hitam. The package includes a motorcycle, helmet and boots, so we got to ride motocross ourselves on a real track. Coffee lovers must stop by Kluang TV Coffee, or Cap Televisyen, a brand since 1966 whose factory is on Jalan Besar. Visitors can watch the production process and buy ground coffee, coffee bags or beans.

Gunung Lambak Resort offers accommodation, a water park and an animal park, and this is where the trail to the 510-metre summit of Gunung Lambak begins, about an hour to an hour and a half of hiking. Finally, Kluang Rail Coffee originated at the Kluang railway station back in 1938. The Bandar Seri Impian branch we visited has a coffee house concept, with a wider range of coffee and food.

You don't have to drive to get here. Since 12 December 2025, the ETS service from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru stops in Kluang, with a journey of around 3.5 to 4.5 hours, and we found the new trains comfortable for long trips.

Tips

  • Take the ETS from KL Sentral to Kluang to avoid a long drive; book tickets early via KTMB.
  • Hike Gunung Lambak early in the morning and check first for any temporary closure notices from the Kluang Municipal Council.
  • Rumah Seni, Laman Kreatif and Laman Rel Mahkota are close to each other in the town centre, so you can visit them all in one walking loop.
  • For Pelangi Racing, contact the office in Kluang first, as the track is in Air Hitam.
